Palu, 5/7 (Public Relation of IAIN Palu) - State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Palu, Central Sulawesi, collaborated on academic development with Sultan Sharif Ali University of Brunei Darussalam on Thursday.
The signing of a memorandum of understanding was conducted by IAIN Palu Rector Prof Dr H sagaf S Pettalongi and Rector of UNISSA Brunei Dr. Haji Norarfan Bin Haji Zainal in Jogjakarta, on the sidelines of the Meeting of Asian Islamic Universities Association (AIUA).
"The signing of the memorandum of understanding as a form of academic development that includes several activities in it," said Chairman of Quality Assurance Agency IAIN Palu, Dr. Askar Ahmad, in a written message, contacted from Palu on Thursday.
Askar describes, the cooperation of two universities in the two countries, including the exchange of students and lecturers of the two universities.
Then, academic cooperation includes community service, real working class involving students.
"This cooperation is a form of strengthening of academic improvement for research and community service," Askar Ahmad said.
Furthermore, the academic development does not only involve IAIN Palu and UNISSA Brunei.
Rather it also involves the College of Inter-Nation Technology (KITAB), University of Islamic Pahang College of Sultan Ahmad Shah (KUIPSAS) Malaysia, and Sultan Azlan Shah University (USAS) Malaysia.
"Cooperation of academic development involves several universities, with a cooperative content that is not unlike the UNISSA Brunei," said Askar, "called Askar.
IAIN Palu is one of the largest state Islamic universities under the auspices of Ministry of Religious Affairs in Central Sulawesi, which continues to experience change and development.
